Hello Impact Gamers Supporters,

Sorry we have been a little quiet, we have been busy getting some exciting things ready.

During this time of social distancing it’s proving hard to get our message out. So please help SHARE & LIKE our Facebook, Twitter posts and this information with others who might be interested.

Impact Gamers focus is to get young people to engage positively and creatively with computers.

Everything is fantastic… My son is so happy he can now use his laptop… I got it for bday last year secondhand and has never had the opportunity to use it, so now he feels like its birthday again today… Covid Parent Quote

Thank you for the loan of the laptop. You have helped the college get closer towards allowing the students to continue their IT courses. The student in question is now likely to achieve a merit grade on a Level 2 BTEC course. With kind regards. Tutor Quote

We have spaces for weekly zoom tutorial lessons with TJ or Adam for 7-16yr olds. The PEARS funding allows to run these session for free, helping give young people a place to voice their views through game making.

We have been hard at work in this time of lockdown getting our new Covid-secure room ready with tahnks from funds from Give Bradford, VRU and WCIT. We are out of the basement and just across the grass at St Stephen’s / SHINE community hall.  We have open space, windows that open, hand sanitiser and policies to be ready for when students can come.

We are trailing a one family visiting the room at one time this week.  Hopefully we’ll be able to expand the work we do from our new base.

“Hello we have loaned a laptop and this is working fine no issues at all. This has really helped my daughter with her school work, she wouldn’t have been able to keep up with her classes without. Thank you so much, fantastic that you are helping out the young children and families that don’t have enough computers or laptops in the home” – Parent Quote

Did you know that we export and upload the young peoples games for everyone to play http://www.igamers.io

Why not check it out and see what score you can get and let us know your favourite game.

We are currently uploading new games, if you can’t find your child’s please let us know and we’ll do our best to get it online.

“I would highly recommend impact gamers. My son really enjoyed making a game. Adam and TJ that ran it were really nice and do a great job.” Parent Quote

We are busy building training resources for college and university students as impact gamers volunteers.  This way we can offer many more virtual lessons and make a bigger impact. If you know someone 16-25 in further education who would like to train to be a volunteer let us know.

We have funding from THE LEAP (Creative People and Places) to gather stories of people’s communities and produce 30 games. The games will serve as a way to inspire people to build community through arts.

HAVE YOU GOT SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT YOUR LOCAL AREA?

WE NEED YOU! Do you live in or near Manningham, Bradford Moor, Tong, or the City? We’d love to hear your thoughts on your community.

We will do a short 15 mins interview with you in September/October over the phone, and build a game from your ideas in November. If you get chosen for the interview we can send you a voucher as a thank you.
