Working with children aged between 7-11 or 11-16 at difficult times in their life. Aiming to improve personal skills support mental health needs and raise self esteem. 5 students, 3 volunteers, 2 staff (per course)

We won the Young Games Designer BAFTA Mentor award in 2018 for our work with young people; we want to build upon that in 2019.

For this project schools or other agencies refer students to us.  These are students who are attending school but need some extra support, with a strong focus on mentoring and life skills development.

We lead them as one team to make a computer game all together over 24 sessions but take interest in how they are personally doing in catch ups every 3 sessions.

At the end of the project they will have a certificate and finished game that can be published online for mobile devices or for PC.

Projects start termly

Schools pay towards the places but this doesn’t cover the fully cost of the course.  Being funded by an organisation allows us to work with more students who don’t have diagnosed needs and also any extra funding allows us to run free after school activities for the children in the local community.

Project running costs are £3,000 but could be divided between funders. (£8,500 for a full year of funding for 15 students & families)
